Robust controller order reduction
In this article, methods are proposed to reduce the order of single-input single-output and multi-input multi-output robust controllers. A robust controller ensures system robust performance and reducing its order may result in loss of robust performance. Using the balanced truncation technique, a lower bound on the controller order is provided which guarantees that the robust performance of the closed-loop system is maintained. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
