A sterically enforced bent form of an edge-sharing dipalladium(II) complex attained by a linked-bisphosphido bridge
Edge-sharing square planar dipalladium(II) complexes with a formula [Pd-2(mu-RPCH2CH2PR)(DPPE)(2)]Cl-2 [DPPE = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphono)ethane, R =Me (3a), Ph (3b)] were prepared, and their X-ray crystal (3a), Ph (3b)] were prepared, and their X-ray crystal structures were determined, in which the two Pd(II) atoms were bridged with the linked-bisphosphido group to form a rare butterfly structure.
