Transparent Green-Emitting Luminescent Layer Using Spherical SiO2/Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ Core-Shell Nanophosphors
A transparent green-emitting luminescent layer was produced using uniform spherical SiO2/Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ core-shell particles. The as-prepared nanophosphors, with average diameters of approximately 70 nm, have a controlled shape and produce a characteristic green emission upon photoexcitation. Using the corresponding core-shell phosphors, we can obtain transparent plasma-driven display panels (PDPs), with >= 80% transparency under daylight and 40 cd/m(2) luminance under plasma discharge, which are meaningful to boost the application of the emissive displays to large-sized signage board and window displays.
