Tracer Experiments to Investigate Granule Growth by Dust Integration in the Fluidized Bed Spray Granulation Process
Fluidized bed spray granulation is a process for the formulation of granular products with excellent application-technological properties, e.g., good redispersability, good flowability and dust-freeness. Nevertheless, only high-grade products justify the spray granulation process because of higher specific costs and higher complexity compared to spray-drying. Amongst other things the dust which is generated in the process by attrition and overspray (spray-dried droplets) may cause problems. The influence of process parameters on the dust integration by wet granules was investigated.
