Syntheses of titanium and zirconium chlorotrialkyl complexes and crystal structure of chlorotrineopentylzirconium containing unusual linear symmetric metal-chloride polymeric chains
Chlorotrineopentylzirconium (Me3CCH2)(3)ZrCl was found to crystallize in polymeric chains with unusual linear and symmetric chloride bridges and the repeat unit -Cl-Zr(CH2CMe3)(3)-Cl-Zr(CH2CMe3)(3)-. The syntheses of new trialkyl chloride complexes (Me-3-SiCH2)(3)MCl (M = Ti, Zr) and improved methods of preparing (Me3CCH2)(3)MCl (M = Ti, Zr) and tetraalkyl complexes (Me3ECH2)(4)Ti (E = C, Si) are reported.
