Formation of a Tantalum Siloxane Cage Complex in the Reaction of (Eta(5)-C5Me5)Tame4 with a Silanetriol
Reaction of (eta(5)-C5Me5)TaMe4 with kinetically stable silanetriol leads to the formation of the tantalum siloxane cage complex which can be thought of as molecular model for a tantalum organometallic compound supported on a silica surface. The mechanism of formation via dehydroxylation reactions on metal centers and silanol condensation is discussed.
