Vesicle Adsorption on Mesoporous Silica and Titania
Lipid bilayer formation via vesicle fusion on mesoporous silica and mesoporous titania was investigated using quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D) and fluorescent recovery after photobleaching (FRAP). Results showed that lipid hi layers were formed on mesoporous silica and that intact vesicle adsorption was obtained on mesoporous titania. From the FRAP results, it could be concluded that the lipid bilayer was Fluid: however, it had a smaller diffusivity constant compared to bilayers supported on a nonporous silica.
