Isolation and VIS-Absorption Spectrum of Trans-(Ni(Oh2)(2)(Cyclam))Cl-2-Center-Dot-4H(2)O
The trans-diaqua cyclam-Ni(II) complex was isolated as trans-[Ni(OH2)(2)(cyclam)]Cl-2 . 4H(2)O, which was confirmed by X-ray crystallography ([Ni(OH2)(2)(C10H24N4)]Cl-2 . 4H(2)O : triclinic space group P (1) over bar with a = 7.894(3) Angstrom, b = 7.981(3) Angstrom, c = 9.261(5) Angstrom, alpha = 65.41(3)degrees, beta = 79.97(4)degrees, gamma = 80.76(3)degrees, Z = 1). Its single-crystal vis-absorption spectrum showed three absorption bands (lambda 333 nm (epsilon 3.7), 507 (3.1), 667 (2.4)) in the range 300-800 nm.
