Optically-Active Transition-Metal Complexes .5. A Novel Type of Optically-Active Diketonate Ligand and Its Rhodium Complex
An optically active tricarbonyl(eta(4)-dienone)iron complex is deprotonated to its enolate, which can be converted either with TMSCl into a silylenol ether or with pivaloyl chloride into a beta-dicarbonyl compound. The latter is deportonated to give a diketonate, which serves as a chiral chelating ligand toward rhodium.
