Synthesis and Crystal-Structure of (2,7,12,17-Tetrapropylporphycenato)bis-(Tricarbonylrhenium(I))
The reaction of Re-2(CO)(10) with H(2)TPrPc (H(2)TPrPc = 2,7,12,17-tetrapropylporphycene) in decalin gave (TPrPc)[Re(CO)(3)](2), which has been structurally characterized by X-ray crystal analysis. The crystal structure shows two Re(I) atoms concurrently bound to the porphycene ligand, one above and one below the porphycene ligand, with an average displacement of 1.50 Angstrom. The spectroscopic properties of and results of EHMO calculations on this complex are discussed. [GRAPHICS] ]
