Reaction of 1,2-Dehydro-O-Carborane with Acetylenes - Ene Reactions and Cycloaddition to Give an Analog of Benzocyclobutadiene
Reaction of 1,2-dehydro-o-carborane with methylphenylacetylene leads to the first carborane fused to an unsaturated four-membered ring. This compound is much more stable than the conceptually related benzocyclobutadienes.
