A Flow Injection Chemiluminescence Method for the Determination of Folic Acid using the Reaction of Ce(IV) and Sodium Hyposulfite Catalyzed by Gold Nanoparticles
A rapid flow injection chemiluminescence method (CL-FIA) is proposed for the determination
of folic acid (FA). The method is based on the intensified CL intensity of Ce(IV)-Na2S2O4-FA system catalyzed by gold nanoparticles (Au NPs). The CL intensity of the Ce(IV)-Na2S2O4-FA-Au NPs system was increased with the concentration of FA in the linear range of 2.3×10^(-9)-8.5×10^(-7) mol L^(-1) with correlation coefficient of 0.9992. The limit of detection was found to be 2.7×10^(-10) mol L^(-1). The method affords good accuracy with high sensitivity and selectivity which can be applied successfully for the determination of folic acid in pharmaceutical and biological samples.
