Convective mass transfer from a horizontal rotating cylinder in a slot air jet flow
The effect of air jet impinging on the mass transfer characteristics from a rotating spinning cylinder surface are investigated experimentally. The effects of rotational Reynolds number Re-r, jet-exit Reynolds number Re-j, the nozzle width-to-cylinder diameter ratio B/d, and the ratio of the distance between nozzle exit and the front of cylinder to nozzle width L/B on the mean (Sj) over bar are determined. The phenomena of the first and second critical points is analyzed and validated. On the basis of experimental data, the correlation equation is obtained. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
