SAFT modeling of inert-gas effects on the cloud-point pressures in ethylene copolymerization systems: Poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) plus vinyl acetate plus ethylene and poly(ethylene-co-hexene-1) + hexene-1 + ethylene with carbon dioxide, nitrogen, or n-butane
The cloud-point pressures in poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) and poly(ethylene-co-hexene-l) binary, ternary, and quaternary solutions containing the comonomer, ethylene, and inert components are correlated using the SAFT equation of state. SAFT is found to account for the antisolvent effects of N-2 and CO2 as well as for the cosolvent effects of n-butane, vinyl acetate, and l-hexene in the range of 393-493 K.
