The operation of gas-liquid separators was investigated by modeling with the finite element method (CFD) in the Star CD software package. A number of recommendations were developed for improving the design of the separators: positioning of the drip pan, mutual position of the feedstock inlet choke, drip pan, outlet choke, etc.
