A correlation for the prediction of thermal conductivity of liquids
Correlation and prediction of transport properties are important in the design of heat- and mass-transfer equipment. Prediction of the thermal conductivity of liquids based only on theoretical grounds does not give good results because the theories describing the liquid state are far from satisfactory. In this paper, a semitheoretical method for the prediction of thermal conductivity is proposed and the results are compared with the recent methods by Arikol and Gurbuz and with the methods recommended by Reid et al.
