Arylazoacetylacetones, arylazoacetamides arylazomalonates have been used as multifunction additives for Egyptian gasoline. Treating these azodye derivatives with phenyl hydrazine, hydrazine hydrate and hydroxylamine give heterocyclic derivatives which have also been examined as additives.
