Synthesis of 8-aminoceramidone derivatives by modified two step process
Disperse dyes of the type 8-aminoceramidone derivatives have been synthesized by condensation of bromamine acid (1-amino-4-bromoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid) with various arylamines followed by simultaneous desulphonation and cyclization with a mixture of concentrated sulphuric and orthophosphoric acids which saves the time and reduces the cost. Addition of optimum quantity of urea minimizes charring of the dyes by concentrated acids. The dyeing properties of these fifteen dyes have been assessed on polyesters.
