Reliability models for electrochemical processes: some applications of the Weibull and Rayleigh probability distributions
The potential usefulness of two important tools of reliability analysis: the Weibull and the Rayleigh distribution, is illustrated for three electrochemical processes, via cathode- and anode-failure, and deviations of alloy composition from target values. The examples show that (incorrectly assumed) normal and T-distribution can lead to serious numerical errors in estimating survival times.
