Correlation and prediction of partition coefficients for solute transfer to 1,2-dichloroethane from both water and from the gas phase
Data have been compiled from the published literature on the partition coefficients of solutes and vapors into 1,2-dichloroethane from both water and from the gas phase. The logarithms of the water-to-1,2-dichloroethane partition coefficients (log P) and gas-to-1,2-dichloroethane partition coefficients (log K) are correlated with the Abraham solvation parameter model. The derived correlations describe the observed log P and log K values to with standard deviations of 0.16 and 0.18 log units, respectively. The predictive abilities of the derived correlations are assessed by dividing the database into a separate training set and test set. (C) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
