Study on the hydrates of water-soluble gases I. Preparation of chlorine hydrate
From the reaction of water soluble metallic hypochlorites (mainly sodium hypochlorite) and hydrochloric acid at low temperatures (by forming chlorine in situ) chlorine hydrate can be prepared. This method is suitable for studying the hydrate-formation at different salt concentrations and temperatures.
