Performances of a pulsating column for liquid-liquid extraction
This paper presents the experimental results obtained to establish the performances of a pulsating column for liquid-liquid extraction with sieve plates and a new type of pulsation generator. The effects of amplitude and frequency of pulsation and of the distance between two consecutive plates on hold-up, volumetric efficiency and height equivalent to a theoretical plate for mass transfer are investigated. The data show that it can be included in the group of extractors of the highest performance.
