STEADY-STATE STUDY ON THE TRANSFORMATION METHOD OF DISTILLATION CONTROL-STRUCTURES
The aim of this paper is to check the applicability of the HAGGBLOM and WALLER [2,3] transformation method for distillation control structures if an error in the base structure of the transformation method is present. In this study the [L,V] control scheme is selected as the base structure. The transformation method is tested on four different separation problems. The data of the non base structures obtained by the transformation method are compared to the corresponding data determined by the full scale model. The transformation method Provides adequate results at steady-state conditions. By the error propagation method an attempt is made to estimate the error of the data transformed. In the problems investigated the error propagation method overestimates the error of the transformation.
