Synthesis of Bismuth Molybdate Nanowires via Electrodeposition-Heat-Treatment Method
Here we have successfully fabricated gamma-Bi2MoO6 nanowires via an electrodeposition-heat-treatment method. The precursors prepared via electrodeposition possess many spheres which are amorphous, consisting of bismuth oxides and molybdenum oxides. After annealing at 450 degrees C for 2 h in air atmosphere, bismuth molybdate nanowires were synthesized from the sphere precursors. Scanning electron microscopy, electron-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and selected area electron diffraction measurements were employed to characterize the bismuth molybdate nanowires. A possible growth mechanism for bismuth molybdate nanowires was proposed in this article.
