The carbon dioxide reforming of methane in a thermal diffusion column (TDC) hot wire reactor
Methane reforming with CO2, achieved on a hot temperature win in a thermal diffusion column (TDC) reactor, was studied as a function of linear now rate and temperature at a CO2:CH4 ratio of 1. Temperature effects on tungsten, molybdenum and chromel wires showed molybdenum to be the 'best' wire. As the CO2:CH4 ratio changed from 1.97 to 0.55, the CO:H-2 ratio changed from 1.56 to 0.74 for tungsten wire.
