Carbon dioxide mass transfer to non-linear alkanes
In the present article, it has been studied the gas-liquid mass transfer process corresponding to carbon dioxide/2,2,4-trimethylpentane (isooctane) and carbon dioxide/cyclohexane systems, and it has been characterized in relation to the effect caused by the operation variables, such as stirring rate and gas flow-rate. The non-linear nature of the alkanes used in this article has been analyzed using the comparison with the behaviour previously observed behaviour in the carbon dioxide/linear alkanes absorption process. Different models have been used to correlate the experimental mass transfer coefficient and to compare the fitting results.
