In order to determine a solid fuel quality, particularly that of the smokeless one, and to evaluate its usefulness for heating purposes it is necessary to carry out standarized tests on its thermal and ecological effectivness. In the paper the properties and testing methodology of the smokeless fuel are presented. All tests carried out proved reliability of developed measurement technique and high quality of the smokeless fuel briquettes comparing to parent coal. Application of smokeless fuel in household ovens will decrease air pollution noticeably.
