Solubility of squalane, dinonyl phthalate and glycerol in supercritical CO2
The solubilities of three low-volatile liquids were measured in supercritical and liquid carbon dioxide at 7-28 MPa and 296-333 K. Solutes of different polarities were selected, namely non-polar squalane, polar glycerol, and dinonyl phthalate of medium polarity. Dynamic method of measurement with gravimetrically determined amount of the extracted solute was applied. The solubilities were correlated with density of pure carbon dioxide, using the Adachi-Lu equation. The equation represents the experimental solubilities with relative standard deviation 2-3%.
