The Excess Molar Volumes of (N-Butylamine Plus an Ether) at the Temperature 298.15 K and the Application of the Eras Model
The excess molar volumes V-m(E)[xCH(3)(CH2)(3)NH2 + (1-x)(CH3CH2)(2)O or (1-x){CH3(CH2)(2)}O-2 or (1-x){CH3(CH2)(3)}O-2 or (1-x){(CH3)(2)CH}O-2 or (1-x)CH3CH2C(CH3)(2)OCH3 or (1-x)CH3C(CH3)(2)OCH3 or (1-x)c-(CH2)(2)O(CH2)(2)O or (1-x)c-(CH2)(4)O or (1-x)c-(CH2)(5)O] have been calculated from measured values of density over the whole composition range at the temperature 298.15 K in order to investigate the interactions between CH3(CH2)(3)NH2 and ROR’. The V-m(E) values of the mixtures studied are positive with the exception of the mixtures [xCH(3)(CH2)(3)NH2 + (1-x)(CH3CH2)(2)O or + (1-x){(CH3)(2)CH}O-2 or + (1-x)CH3C(CH3)(2)OCH3]. For straight-chain, branched chain and cyclic ethers, V-m(E) increases with increasing molecular weight. Together with the previously reported data for the molar excess enthalpy, the V-m(E) data has been used to test the applicability of the ERAS model.
