규칙적으로 배열된 새로운 지방족 에스테르계 다올의 합성과 중합
Synthesis and Polymerization of New Swquentially Ordered Aliphatic Ester Diol

촉매인 stannous octoate 존재 하에서 glycolide 또슨 lactide를 개시제인 ethylene glycol (EG), 1,4-butanediol(BD), 1,6-hexanediol(HD)로 개환반웅시켜 6가지 중류의 새로운지방족 에스테르계 diol을 합성하였다. 합성된 새로운 지방족 에스테르계 diol은 용매 내에서 linear form의 형태 이성질체 구조와 ring form의 형태 이성질체 구조가 공존함을 발견하였다. Ring/linear 구조를 갖는 diol의 농도비는 사용된 개시제의 사슬의 길이가 중가함에 따라0/100 (EG), 25/75(BD), 49/51(HD) 비율로 증가하는 경향을 관찰마였다 합성된 diol들을 기존의 지방족 dicarboxylic acid 또는 dicarboxylic bichloride와 중합시켜, 분자 구조가 규칙적으로 배열된 새로운 지방족 폴리에스테르를 합성하였다. 합성된 중합체의 고유 점도(ηinh) 는 0.1∼0.4dL/g이었다. 중합체의 열적 거동을 DSC로 분석한 결과, Tg는 -35 ∼10 ℃ 사이 값을 보였다. 또한, TGA로부터 중합체들의 열적 안정성을 조사한 결과, 10%무게 손실의 온도는 약 270∼345 ℃ 사이의 값을 보였고, 550 ℃ 에서의 char 수율은 5∼10%로 나타났다. 중합체들의 열적 성질을 비교한 결과 사용된 diol 단량체 내에 도입된 메틸렌기의 사슬 길이가 증가할수록(EG→BD→HD) Tg는 감소하는 반면, 열적 안정성이 증가하는 경향을 보였다.
Six kinds of new aliphatic ester diols were synthesized by the ring opening reaition of glycolide (or lactide) with aliphatic dials such as ethylene glycol (EG), 1,4-butanediol(BD) and 1,6-hexanediol (HD), as initiators, in the presence of stannous octoate catalyst. It was found that the prepared aliphatic ester viols coexisted on two conformational isomers of linear and ring forms in a solvent. The ratio of the concentration of ring form to linear one in the diol compounds increased in order of 0/100 (EG), 25/75 (BD), and 49/51 (HD) as the length of the methylene linkage of the diol used as an initiator increased. The viols were polymerized with conventional aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, such as succinic acid, adipic acid and sllberic acid, or the corresponding acid chlorides to produce new sequentially ordered aliphatic polyesters. The resulting polymers had inherent viscosity in the range of 0.1-0.4 dL/g in chloroform at 25 ℃ According to the results of DSC, their glass transition temperatures (Ts ) rarlged from -35 to 10 ℃. From TGA thermograms, the sequentially ordered aliphatic polyesters were observed to show relatively good thermal stability. The temperature of 10% weight loss was in the range of 270∼345 ℃ and all the polymers showed char yields of 5∼10% at 550 ℃ under a nitrogen atmosphere. The higher the length of the methylene linkage incorporated into the diol increased, the lower the Ts decreased and the better the thermal stability showed.
