Amplification of the coloration efficiency of photochromic oxazines
The photoinduced ring opening of a [1,3]oxazine ring generates simultaneously two chromophores able to absorb in the same region of the visible spectrum. The additive absorptive properties of the two photogenerated chromophores translate into the amplification of the coloration efficiency of this bichromophoric molecular switch relative to conventional monochromophoric counterparts.
