The purpose of the ＇＇Mediterranean Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference＇＇ (MOEX 94) from 25th to 27th January 1994 in Naxxar, Malta, was to review the present and future exploration of hydrocarbon sources in the Mediterranean region. Specialists from the neighbouring countries, e.g. Albania, Algeria, Marokko, Italy, Tunesia as well as Russia contributed to the programme. The international participation of OPEC, EC and Arab Maghreb Union together with the representatives of their oil companies provided not only for a wide-angle perspective but also for deliberations at a high level of experience. The following is a review of a few selected papers on Algeria, Marokko, Albania as well as Russian view of the oil reserves of the Mediterranean region.
