비수계 분산중합에 의한 아크릴계 입자 덩어리의 형성
Formation of Acrylic Odd-shaped "Sponge-like" Cluster in Hydrocarbon Media
초록
본 연구는 3단계 비수계 분산중합을 이용한 3∼10 ㎛ 크기의 덩어리 입자(cluster) 제조법에 대한 보고이다. 이러한 덩어리 입자들은 마이크론 크기이하의 가교된 PMMA seed-core 입자들이 3단계 중합과정에서 부가된 단량체 혼합물과 함께 적절한 중합과정을 거쳐 서로 회합하여 생성된다. 마이크론 크기의 덩어리 입자 생성조건에는 단량체 혼합물의 량, 단량체 혼합물의 조성, 중합공정, 중합온도, 교반속도 등에 크게 영향을 받는 것을 발견하였다. 본 연구에서 제조한 마이크론 크기의 덩어리 입자들의 분산액을 하룻밤 방치할 시 입자들이 무거워 용기 바닥에 침강하나, 가벼운 진동으로 쉽게 재분산되었다. 동결건조한 입자 덩어리 중 HEA/AA가 함유된 입자들은 아민이 포함된 물 중에 안정하게 재분산되었다.
This is a report for the preparation of the "sponge-like" clusters in 3 to 10 μm using 3-staged non-aqueous dispersion(NAD) polymerization. Clusters are made by the aggregation of the submicron sized core-shell type-particles through the third-stage polymerization process using appropriate recipes. It was found that the third polymerization conditions such as the amount of monomer mixture, component of monomer mixture, polymerization process, polymerization temperature, and agitation speed, etc have great influence on the formation of micron-sized clusters. The clusters formed in this study were easily redispersed after settling under the influence of the gravity. The freeze-dried clusters comtaining HEA/AA were easily redispersed in water containing an amine base.
