Photoluminescent europium-containing inner sphere conducting metallopolymer
The oxidative electrochemical polymerization of a new Eu(III) complex that contains 3,4-ethylenedioxythenyl (EDOT) groups has been carried out, resulting in the formation of an inner sphere conducting metalopolymer. Preliminary photophysical measurements reveal energy transfer to the europium center and the corresponding stimulated red emission. Importantly, the europium-containing conducting metallopolymer displays only a europium-based emission profile leading to excellent color purity in this material.
