The work embodied is mainly concerned with phytochemical studies of chern ical constituents from the medicinal plant Peganum harmala, which belongs to the family Zygophylaceae. In this plant the Harman alkaloids (Harmine and Harmaline) are mainly located in the roots and stem. In the present study Harman alkaloids (Harmine and Harmaline) were mainly investigated in seed by using different methods (% yield, Rf values, melting points, UV and IR spectra)for their identification and isolation followed by various physical parameters characterization. The results obtained were in good agreement with the reported values.
