Studies on electrical and dielectric properties of Ba1-xSrxTiO3
Barium strontium titanate (BST) samples with the molar formula Ba1(-x)Sr(x)TiO(3) in which x varies as 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 mol% were prepared by standard double sintering ceramic method. The tetragonal perovskite phase formation was confirmed by XRD. The lattice parameters a and c were calculated from the XRD data. The DC resistivity was measured as a function of temperature. The dielectric constant and loss tangent were studied as a function of frequency and temperature. To understand the conduction mechanism in the samples AC conductivity was measured from dielectric data at room temperature in the frequency range 100 Hz to I MHz. Experimental data shows a linear decrease of Curie temperature with increasing strontium content. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
