The development of an aged society paired with a growing number of elderly households, is expected to increase residential energy demand, This study is designed to analyze various factors which determine the energy demand of elderly households and to predict the future of residential energy consumption in an aging society, In addition, comparing the factors with those in Western countries which contain a population of increasing age, we try to clarify characteristics of the elderly and residential energy demand, then propose possible future subjects for study.
