As the deadline for the planned phaseout of CFCs draws steadily closer, owners and managers of CFC based air conditioning and refrigeration equipment have one of the three options from which to choose. These are containment, conversion and replacement strategies. The choice is likely to be drawn by economic considerations. This paper presents cost analyses for the three available options in an attempt to help owners/managers of CFC based equipment make sound decisions in this regard.
