Volumetric properties of aqueous solutions of glutaric acid
Densities of aqueous solutions with molalities up to 6 mol center dot kg(-1) were determined at 5 K temperature intervals, from T = 288.15 K to T = 333.15 K. Densities served to evaluate the apparent molar volumes, V-2,V-phi(m, T), the cubic expansion coefficients, alpha(m, T), and the changes of isobaric heat capacities with respect to pressure, (partial derivative Cp/partial derivative P)(T,m). They were qualitatively correlated with the changes in the structure of water when glutaric acid is dissolved in it. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
