Miscibility of Tetramethyl Bisphenol-A Polyarylate with Poly(hexamethylene sebacate)

Tetramethyl bisphenol-A polyarylate(TMPA_r) was synthesized with the prepared tetramethyl bisphenol-A(TMBPA) monomer. TMPA_rwas blended with poly(hexamethylene sebacate)(PHS) by solvent casting and the miscibility of TMPA_r/PHS blends was examined with the glass transition behaviour measured by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). TMPA_r was found to be miscible with PHS at all compositions and interaction parameter. B determined from melting point depression method was -2.74(cal/cm³.
