Temporal evolution of luminescence by Pb2+-doped KBr and KCl phosphors
The decay of the A(T) emission band by Pb2+ ion has been investigated in KBr and KCl crystals using a streak camera. Unlike the previously obtained triexponential decay curve, a multiexponential-like decay curve has been observed in the measurement at various streak sweep times between 20 ns and 10 mu s. It is suggested that the nonexponential decay indicates distribution of Pb2+ ions with different site symmetries.
