The electrocatalytic hydrogenation (ECH) of 2-cyclohexen-1-one in aqueous methanol has been investigated under constant current at stainless steel and pressed powder graphite electrodes and at electrodes made of electrodeposited nickel, copper and cobalt. High selectivity of the carbon-carbon double bond hydrogenation was observed with electrodeposited nickel and copper electrodes.
