Determination of dispersion coefficients in a porous medium using the frequency response method
The determination of the longitudinal and transverse components of dispersion coefficients in a porous medium is discussed. The mathematical formulation for calculating these coefficients from the response of the porous medium to a pulsed input at a line source is developed. This formulation is subsequently used for reduction of data generated from laboratory experiments. The data reduction procedure is found to be unambiguous, and as predictions are found to be meaningful.
