Influence of platinum dispersion on the adsorptivity and reactivity of olefinic alcohols in hydrogenations
This work presents a study of molecular structure effects exerted by the group of unsaturated alcohols in heterogeneously catalyzed hydrogenations. Parameters of adsorptivity and reactivity characterizing the stability of an adsorbed complex and the surface reaction rate were acquired on platinum supported catalysts differing in metal particle size. The origin of the particle size effect on adsorptivity and reactivity parameters was suggested to be related to the mode and strength of adsorption.
