Physicochemical properties of Ti-grafted SBA-15
A series of titanium containing mesoporous silica, Ti-SBA 15, was prepared by grafting titanium isopropoxide. Solvents for the titanium precursor have shown a significant effect on the nature of titanium species grafted. The maximum grafted titanium was found to be ca. 6.3 mol %, significantly lower than in other M41S type materials. For 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol hydroxylation, conversions increased with the amount of titanium on the surface of Ti-SBA 15, but hydrogen peroxide selectivity decreased.
