On the role of surfaces in hydrogenation reactions with gas phase spillover hydrogen
In former investigations on hydrogen spillover through the gas phase [2,3] the glass surface seemed to be important. Two methods were used here to test this: (a) filling the reaction zone with glass powder; (b) same with silanized glass. High conversion with normal and negligible ones with silanized glass provide clear proof for the above assumption.
