The synthesis and characterization of a Light-Emitting Diodes new series of charge-neutral Ru-II metal complexes are reported. The compound (Ru(ifpz)(2)(PPh2Me)(2)) is a very attractive candidate for the fabrication of saturated red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diode devices (see Figure) with high brightness and very low turn-on voltage.
