Conductive hybrid films of polyarylamine electrochemically oxidized with the molecular nanomagnet [Mn12O12(H2O)(4)-(C6F5COO)(16)]
Soluble hybrid organic-inorganic semiconductors based on polyarylamines and a dodecylmanganese molecular nanomagnet (see Figure) possess high conductivities at low oxidation levels, making this material attractive as a charge-transport material in organic solar cells and organic light-emitting diodes. Additionally, the magnetism of the Mn-12 cluster is not affected by the presence of the conducting polymer, as expected for isolated nanomagnets.
