Numerical model of a mixed flow coupled with mass and heat transfer in continuous-flow electrophoresis
A numerical model describing the unsteady, two dimensional hydrodynamics, mass transfer and heat transfer in continuous flow electrophoresis is developed in order to predict the hydrodynamic stability of the carrier buffer flow. The model takes into account of the importance of the coupling between the different phenomena and is capable of predicting undesirable effects, due to natural convection, such as backflow.
