Dynamic Simulation of a PVC Suspension Reactor
The scope of this contribution is to present a comprehensive methodology for the dynamic modelling of an industrial PVC suspension reactor. The paper analyses the main features, but brings also some new insights on the polymerisation kinetics, the dynamic heat balance and the action of the control system. The model is implemented in SPEEDUP(TM) and can be used for the optimisation of process operation and recipe development, as well as a core component of a training simulator.
